Here is a message I just sent to another cousin:

Dear Frank, Mary, Nancy & Buttons:
Wanted to drop you a line and let you know that we may have
had some success in breaking through the Lezium Boushley
mystery.

mystery.
I don't know if I mentioned to you during my visit that last
summer I had hired a professional genealogist up in
Montreal, his name is Bernard. He also wasn't able to come
up with any connection with the information we had at that
time.

Remember that I showed you Lezium on the 1880 census with
the first name "Ones."Bernard had confirmed that "Onesime"
is a valid French name and had suspected that Onesime and
been anglicized into Lezium. He was also pretty sure that
Boushley was probably a derivative of one of two French
names, Boisjoly or Beausoleil.

When I was in Stevens Point going through marriage records,
I found marriage records for two men with very similar last
names (Bozlee & Boushele).I think I mentioned them to
you. Both of these grooms were shown to have a father named
Oliver and a mother named Sarah.

I copied the records just in case someday we could tie into
them.
them.
When I got home I was going through the records that I had
copied with my dad, we were able to add a few marriage dates
and places on Lezium's children from what I had copied.
When I showed dad the Bozlee and Boushele records he
remembered that on Lezium's original land purchase of 160
acres that he had purchased it from someone named Oliver.

We got the land contract out and two things stuck out:
Lezium in 1860 bought 160 from a couple named Oliver and
Sarah, and Lezium and Oliver are shown to have the same last
name.

With that I sent another email off to Bernard, the
professional genealogist in Montreal, and asked him to see
if this "Oliver connection" might be of any help.About two
weeks later he responded with what he believes to be a solid
lead.

What he found was a child born 15 Oct 1838, outside of
Montreal, named Pierre Onesime Griveau dit Boisjoly, son of
Michel Griveau dit Boisjoly and Madeline Gervais. The child
had a brother named Oliver.Michel and Madeline had 16
children and only two of them were neither married nor
buried in the parish records... guess who... Onesime and
Oliver.

This is not a conclusive tie, but has more hope on this line
than I have ever seen.Bernard will try to tie in Lezium's
oldest son William's birth.

If we tie into this line Bernard indicates that he can go
back another 6 or 7 generations and take the line into
France.Should be somewhere between 100 and 150 names we
can tie into.
