Do you know of Peter F. Bouchea, his sister Frances Marie Massey, or Louise Boucher Quinn? They are from the great Lakes Tribes of Indians. Father is French, mother part French and Chippewa from Northern Wisconsin or lower Canada. Peter may have been born at Ford Edward, or now called Fort William. They have brothers, Peter went to visit in 1875 and died and supposedly buried on Silver Island, North shore of Lake Superior, anyway. He had been a voyageur, traveled with Joseph Nicollet and John C. Fremont on exploration in Minnesota, before it was Minnesota, in 1838.
Do you have any good places to search for Chippewa Indians of Northern Wis, or lower Canada? I would dearly love to know the name of my Ggg grandmother.
Lorraine
