If you can afford it, you can research Quebec ancestry online. Ancestry.com has Quebec church records online (baptisms, marriages & burials) http://content.ancestry.com/iexec/default.aspx?htx=List&dbid=1091&o_iid=24018&o_lid=24018&o_it=24018 Unfortunately, these records tend to be in French and they're not indexed yet province-wide. Most parishes have annual indexes for their records. I don't know French, but can still manage to figure out the basic details from the records with a French/English dictionary. Also, there is a marriage index for Quebec being constructed at http://www.mesaieux.com/an/default.htm Some information can be accessed for free by registering. Ancestry.com also has the 1901, 1911, and a part of the 1851 census online available with subscription. Familysearch.org has an index for 1881 Canadian census free online. In St-Jean-Chrysostome, Chateauguay, Quebec they have the following: Hilaire Gadonas, 26, day worker Delia, 25 Angelina, 6; Georgina, 4; Susanne, 1 All were listed as born in Quebec, being of French ethnicity, and Catholic. Also found what looks like the family on the 1901 census under Gadbois. I'll e-mail that to you. Couldn't find them on the 1911. ----- Marie Delia Boucher born Jan. 18, 1856. Baptized Jan. 19, 1856 at St-Chrysostome. Parents Jean-Baptiste Boucher & Josephte Lussier of St-Chrysostome. Godparents Janvier Ledoux & Lina Lussier. Hilaire Gadouas born Jan. 19, 1856.
