I was told by a German laddy that Bucher is a very common name in Germany. Also, I found out from some document I found on the internet(historical data) that Bucher has been transformed to Buchart, wich some described for a meaning <Book of Art> people that were selling book. I would say that we must not put too much energy to find what it means, but trying to find its oldest form would be the easest approch in order to later find the real meaning.

I was also told that Bucher was from <weiße Birke>wich means Bouleau blanc, hard like white birch. This is not a definitive answer to our never ending search.

Take care everyone.

Stephane Bouchard
