The earliest Bouchard ancestor that I know of was Jean Baptiste Bouchard, who was supposed to have been an officer in Napoleon I's forces. He fled to the US-Canadian border region after Napoleon was defeated. He married Ozite DeMars, and had a son named Stephen. Stephen married Flora Bouchard (not a blood relative) at St. Anne's Curch in Detroit. Their children were Ollizimme, Adeline (my direct ancestor), Ursula, Alson, Alfred and Corduelle. After Flora's death, he re-married to Jennie St. Bernard (b. Brest, France, 1-9-1826), and they had Edward, George, Stella, Julia, Eugene and Joe.
Adeline married twice - first to someone by the last name of Bowes, who died, and then to Louis Fidele Beland, my great-great grandfather.
