Hi Diane,
I have the same census information. I was not sure that our Howard, son of James and Martha, is the same one. I'm not even sure that his parent's were James and Martha. From other research I have done I have found this James' middle name was Milton (so some think). I would assume it should be Merwyn since the name carried down another generation to my grand-uncle. Family records have Howard's death date as 07 Feb 1910. I don't know if Martha remarried or when she died either. I will let you know if I do find out.
