Dorothea Botts (Batz) was born 16 Oct 1822 in Buchenbach, Roth, Mittelfranken, Germany.
She arrived in the Baltimore Port on 30 Aug 1848. She traveled on the ship Huntingdon via Bremen.
She traveled with John Neck, her fiancé.
Her immigration record shows her name as “Batz” but the records of her grandson, a Vicentian priest, shows her name as “Botts”.
According to the family bible, John and Dorothea married in 1848 at St. James’ Catholic Church in Baltimore, Maryland,
Dorothea died on 10 Jul 1915 in Emmtisburg, Frederick, MD and is buried in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg.
The couple had 2 sons who became priests and 2 daughters who became nuns.
I would greatly appreciate any information on Dorothea’s parents.
