If Thomas Botts who married Ann Chappell died 1758 then he isn't the right Thomas. The LDS files was wrong as they listed his death as 1776 & he was son of Thomas Botts & Elizabeth Botts (Kannon or Kennan) but the LDS files didn't have a maiden name. Do you have any other Bott data? I'm not sure where my Thomas Bott fits in. I don't have any dates of birth for Thomas. Thomas Bott was a vestryman in the Bristol Parish of Henrico according to the information of John W. Pritchett who did "Southside Virginia Genealogies." Among his allied families the Botts & Bottom's were included which are also my ancestors as well. My Thomas Bott had a patent for 500 acres of land on the North side of Appamattox River at a place called Voles Branch 05 Sept. 1723. Wife unknown but he died after 1730. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Richard Kennan sold 450 acres to Thomas in 1753. It seems Thomas also acquired 187 acres of land on the road to Col. Kennon's in 1756. I'm not sure which Thomas this was (father or son) but it makes me wonder if my Botts are related to the ones you mentioned. His son Thomas later went to Amelia & Chesterfield County, Va. & he died in Chesterfield County, Va. in 1776. Let me know if you think there is a family connection.
