Hi Betty:

I believe we are related. Tom is my ggfather and Elizabeth my ggmother. I have census information from TX and Indian Territory. This is about the time that the spelling was altered by census takers. Am in process of a single surname study and have identified 40+ alternate variations. Tom and Eliz. were functionally illiterate being unable to read or write.

Am looking to move back up the tree, and while making lots of progress in finding Segrave et al (see above), not easy making sensible connections. I do know that Tom was born in TN and Eliz in Mississippi. Actually I have the Bottoms family back to 1623.
