Thanks again for responding to my recent query. It seems that the John B. Bottoms who married Elizabeth Watkins, daughter of Henry Watkins II and Catherine Pride, had 6 children. The first son was named John E. Bottoms who married Elizabeth ? and this is the line from which my wife descends. The second son was named Thomas Bottoms who died sometime before 1765 in Amelia Co., VA and this is the line from which you and your father descend.

You might try to locate and contact a man by the name of James A. Foerster who is Coordinator of the Bottoms Family Project called "Bottoms Family Migration from Virginia"
