I use posted genealogies as a guide or sometimes a locating tool, but never rely on them as proof unless they are well documented. My source of documentation is always primary documents. I have made a number of trips (14 hours by car) to Richmond, VA to view these. I have also been working my genealogies for over 30 years. Will and deeds are available on microfilm or as original documents at the VA Archives. These are also available sometimes in documented, books. Don't get to use the 1600 date very often, so you are correct, the date of birth for John Bottom #3 should have been 1680-1690 not 1780-1790. I would also like to feel these lines are "straightened" out. Will be willing to work with anyone, but I will always want to know your documentation for information or how that conclusion was come to by preponderance!
