I am trying to sort and connect the various John Bottom families of Henrico County using what research material I have. I am sure there are other sources that I have not come across in my research. Please correct and add to as you have documentation.
I am calling the John Bottom of 1623 Archers Hope and the 1627 court case in James City John #1. That is the only information I have about him.

John Bottom #2
Born about 1662 (deposition Henrico County 1684 gives age as about 22 years.
1681 John is a witness for a deed when Benjamin and Elizabeth Hatcher sell 100 acres known as Turkey Island to John Pleasant.
1684 Henrico County court deposition
ca 1685 marries Elizabeth (named in his will), have been told she was a Watkins, but have no proof.
1696 purchases 100 acres in Henrico County from Alexander McKenney on north side James River near easternmost branch of Four Mile Creek.
1704 pays tax in Henrico County for 100 acres
1705 tax in Henrico County for 100 acres
1710 writes will in Henrico County, VA
1711 will is recorded
According to this will, John's wife was named Elizabeth and he had children:
John "oldest son"
Mary Garret
William one of "two youngest sons"
Joseph one of "two youngest sons"

It is assumed that the son Thomas is the Thomas Bottom who is found in Amelia County records leaving a will dated 1765. If that assumption is correct, he is my ancestor. I am hoping to more accurately prove this with deeds. John's will leaves Thomas the "plantation where he now lives".

I am stopping here for the night, will add more tomorrow. What are your thoughts?
