Hi Alan,
I will be talking to my dad this afternoon and will hopefully be able to get some hard information from him. He tells me he has mums birth certificate somewhere but has been unable to find it. Anyway, I will give you everything I've got so far.

Victor Cecil Botting: It appears he was related in some way to Amos Barnes married to Dorothy May Barnes. They had a daughter, Joan Dorothy Barnes who died 25/9/1989.

Sylvia Bertha Botting: I have National Registration Identity Card (DHRR 224 4), which states her address in 1940 was 9 King Street, Gillingham, Kent. I assume her mother has signed the card for her. The initials are B.L. Botting. I also have her British passport No. 224128, which expired in 1963. It states her place of birth as Gillingham, Kent and her profession as "Machine Operator". I also a church card which states that she was baptised on 24/3/1935. Printed on the top of the card is "S.BARNABAS GILLINGHAM".
In 1965, when I was born, we lived at 9 Bell Crescent, Burham, Kent, England. We moved to Cyprus for two years, I think it must have been about 1970. We moved back to 9 Bell Crescent before moving to Port Moresby, PNG, in 1973. We moved to the Gold Coast, Australia, in 1981 from PNG. PNG did not gain independance until 1975, so may have been classed as a territory of Australia in 1973.
Unfortunately this is all I have at the moment. I will post more information If I can get it.
Thanks for your help.
