Dear Dennis, Thank you very much for your reply. I note that your email address is not available publicly, so I hope that you read this reply. I am a distant cousin of yours; my great-great-grandfather John Pryor was Elizabeth Botsford nee Mc Kernan's oldest uncle. He emigrated to South Australia before the rest of the very large Pryor family, with their elderly parents, emigrated to the USA. I am therefore Australian - but since 1995 I have lived in Devon, England and work in historical archives - so have a professional and personal interest in the family history. I have done a reasonable amount of research on the Devon and Cornish family roots, and made contact over the past 5 years with many of the cousins who descend from the Pryors; they live in Canada, UK, USA and Australia. Since I left the message on this website, I have visited Michigan in Sept 2003 and met Joe Penberthy, another Mc Kernan descendant, and have obtained some Botsford photos and family information , though not nearly as up to date as you have now sent me. This was a preparatory research and contact visit, as in early July 2004, we are having a big reunion of all descendants in Houghton, Michigan, at the same time as the 150th anniversary of Grace Methodist Church, which was founded by members of the family. These events are part of a bigger Copper Country Homecoming for all with links to settlers of the area - with an Old Settlers Ball, 2 days of talks, visits to heritage sites etc - one of our cousins is on the organising committee. However I, together with our cousin Lord Roper [another Pryor cousin who lives in London and has visited Houghton twice on research missions] am involved specifically with the planning of our Pryor descendants' reunion, which will be on the weekend of 3 and 4 July, 2004, and naturally we would like as many of the family lines to be represented as possible. We will have displays with photographs etc of the various family lines, their background and their achievements, and other events. I would very much appreciate being able to contact you somehow off-line, by post or email. If you are not interested yourself, perhaps you could pass on these details to other cousins who would like to hear more about our family background and our upcoming reunion. Sincerely, Ms Jan Wood 26 Fore Street, Ide, Exeter Devon EX2 9RQ United Kingdom Notify Administrator about this message?
