SOPHIA BOTSFORD: LOST GRANDMOTHER

My dad was born JAMES ALBERT BOTSFORD in Michigan in 1926. Shortly after he had the name JAMES CHADWICK. His mother was listed as SOPHIA BOTSFORD and his father was listed as JAMES ALBERT CHADWICK. My father was then adopted by HARRY WYATT and IRENE HOLMES in 1927. I know that JAMES A. CHADWICK and SOPHIA BOTSFORD, registered for a marriage licence in WAYNE COUNTY MICHIGAN, in BOOK 60 page226.
My problem is that can't get good information of hew to obtain a copy of the marriage lic. assuming there was one. I also can't find any further history of these two people.
Can anyone help?
