I am looking for any descendants of George W. S. BOTSFORD and his wife Elizabeth Ann nee McKERNAN, who lived in Michigan. Elizabeth ('Lizzie') married George W. S. BOTSFORD on May 5th 1875 at her father's home at L'Anse, in Michigan, when she was 17 years old. The marriage was announced in the Portage Lake Mining Gazette on 20 May 1875. Elizabeth was the second daughter of John and Emma McKERNAN [nee PRYOR] and was born on 15 November 1857 in Houghton, Michigan. George and Elizabeth ('Lizzie') BOTSFORD lived at Franklin and had a baby son born in 1876 who died of scarlet fever in infancy - i.e. John M. BOTSFORD the son of George and 'Lizzie' BOTSFORD of Franklin was born in Michigan in about March 1876, but died of scarlet fever on 18th June 1877 aged 1 year and 3 months of age at Franklin in Houghton County. I would like to find out whether the couple had more children and if they also had grand-children. Elizabeth BOTSFORD died on 8 December 1892, at the age of 35. Her funeral, which was reported in the L'Anse Sentinel newspaper on Saturday 17th December, 1892, was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church on the afternoon of Sunday 11th December, and was conducted by Reverend F.O. Jones. Elizabeth BOTSFORD was buried at L'Anse Cemetery. Among those from Houghton who attended the funeral, were her first cousins Eliza BLANDY (nee EDWARDS) and her husband James H. BLANDY; James Pryor EDWARDS and his wife; Mrs George C. SHELDEN and daughter Mammie; James PRYOR Junior; Reginald C. PRYOR; Mrs C.F.(Addie) HALL; nee TREVATHEN, and William ('Will') PRYOR. Her uncles and aunts who attended were Joseph PRYOR; James PRYOR and Thomas A. TREVATHEN and his wife. I am not so interested in ancestors, except maybe the parents of George W. S. Botsford - just descendants. Jan Wood Devon UK Notify Administrator about this message?
