Mr and Mrs James E BOTSFORD were in San Francisco at the time of the 1906 earthquake and fire. They sent accounts of their experiences back to a newspaper, the Evening Telegraph,(no dateline) but I don't know where that newspaper is located, probably Michigan. The paper printed an extensive article about them. Also mentioned briefly in the article are Mr and Mrs E D CHASE of Detroit and Mr and Mrs J M REIDSEMA(her name was Maude) of Kalamazoo. (Possibly traveling with the Botsfords)The Botsfords took refuge near Golden Gate Park with my grandparents, Harry L and Elsie McDuffee, and they apparently sent the newspaper article which I found in my grandmother's scrapbook. I would like to contact a descendant of the Botsfords. They took many pictures and I wonder if they still exist.
