Relationship Leon R Yourtee to Boteler

We met Leon Yourtee several years ago and found him delightful. We made two visits to him to talk about the Boteler family but unfortunately we never had a chance to exchange detailed information. He was descended from Capt. Henry Boteler through the female line. His ancestor married a Yourtee and I believe that is when the property came into the Yourtee family, several generations before Col.Yourtee was born.
The house was probably built by a Yourtee but it incorporates two rooms which Col. Yourtee says were the original house built by the first Henry Boteler in what was then Frederick County. He told us that when he was a boy Captain Henry's Revolutionary sword was still in the house but disappeared before he became the owner.
One of the things we did learn from him was about the graveyard at Magnolia Farm, near Brownsville which is a Boteler graveyard in perpetuity. We have visited it twice, but it has been vandalized and is in deplorable condition, with gravestones knocked over and some broken. We have photographs, including some of the tombstones, which we would be glad to share.
I should mention that the present owners of Magnolia Farm were most gracious to us.They do not own the graveyard and cannot maintain it in its' present condition. It would be a wonderful project if some of the descendants of the family of Botelers who are buried there could have the graveyard restored, and we would be glad to help.
