Some years ago, I was in touch with a descendant of Thomas Boswell. In her letter she had the following quote:
"In Hathaway's Register for NC. I found mention of Ann and Elizabeth Waller receiving a grant of 340 acres in Perquimans Pct. in 1694. In a NC Gen. Journal I found a copy of the NC Council Journal for years 1712-1728. On Page 124 it says that Thomas Boswell and his wife, and Elizabeth Waller, her sister appeared before the Council. Did not give an exact date and did not say why they appeared".
Although the actual marriage date cannot now be found, the evidence is clear that Thomas married Anne Waller. Births are recorded for four of their children, Elizabeth, William, James and Joshua. The register of births for Perquimans was ( and is) incomplete. It is evidenced that they also had children George and John. Land records also indicate the Waller land was divided between the sisters, and Thomas' land grants and Anne's land combined, equal the land Thomas had by early 1720s.
Hope this will help a bit. Howard Boswell
