I, too, am a descendant of Asa Boswell. He and his siblings, Charles and Elizabeth, were assigned a guardian in Clarke County, AL in c. 1813 (I don't have my papers in front of me). He married Winnie in Clarke County in about 1825.

The guardian to which they were assigned was Charles Phillips. I have wondered if there was a connection between the families. Perhaps the Boswell children's parents were killed in the many Indian raids taking place there at that time. Later that same year Mrs. Phillips was killed at Ft. Sinquefield during the Creek siege of that place.
