Samuel Boswell is the father of Calvin and Margaret. He was never married. The 1870 Overton County census shows both living with Elizabeth Boswell (age listed as 47). Notes from Boswell family researchers in the area indicate Elizabeth's age is wrong in the 1870 census. She is reported to have been 85 in 1870 and the grandmother of Calvin and Margaret. Samuel was her son but not living in the same household. All notes shared with me state Samuel had two illegitimate children with no mention of the mother.
A neighbor of Elizabeth, Calvin, and Margaret was Ike Ledford. His children were John, Jane, Nancy, Robert, Archy D., and Allen S. Allen was 19 and Margaret 17 in 1870.
Samuel Boswell and Ike Ledford are both buried in the Boswell Family cemetery on the old Boswell farm at Allred.
