Bobby:

Followup on your ancestry:

Mary J. 35 domestic NC
William T. 18 Farm Laborer AL.

James J. 12 "
Joseph 8
Josephine 4
Martha 3

(James Jackson Boswell b abt 1840 , d Jan 2 1930, married Annie Catherine Campbell, listed as Jack on the 1900 census)

William J(efferson) Boswell m Apr 6 1839 Mary Jane Wynn?Winn, he died May 3 1911.

A granddaughter of John W(igg) Boswell, posted the following about the Boswell family in Crenshaw Co.:

John W. Boswell, who was the son of William J, Boswell and Mary Jane Winn, both of NC. William J. may have been the son of Stephen Boswell and Susannah Wilson both of NC. They had 8 children :
Margaret who m Cain Simpson Roberts
William Stephen who d in the Civil War
Thomas Jefferson who m Charlotte Emeline Sasser
Nancy Jane who m Geo. Washington Campbell
John Wigg who m Margaret Vermell Garrett
Josephine V. who m Benjamin E. Petrie
Martha M. who m James A. Williams

John Wigg Boswell b Feb 19 1853 Pike Or Covington Co. AL To Crenshaw Co about 1861.

Since it appears you descend from Thomas Jefferson Boswell, you should know of his Civil War service. Thomas J. Boswell, b Nov 22 1843 Butler Co. AL, enlisted Sep 1863 at Chickamauga in the 33rd AL. Infantry County, was wounded at Franklin, Dec 1864, reenlisted as Pvt. Dec 1864 Nashville TN. Paroled Greensboro NC 1865.

Some Crenshaw Death Records:
Arry D. Boswell d Aug 5 1908
John W. " ' Dec 11 1908
Minnie R. Oct 13 1916
William J. May 3 1911
To. Jan 1919
Jesse May 18 1917
Golden Sep 1929
Mae Emeline (Tom) May 1928
Howell May 19 1942

( It might not be correct that William Jefferson Boswell was the son of Stephen Boswell b 5 Sep 1790 Bladen Co. NC and Susannah Wilson b Aug 1 1791. They had a son William Alexander, and not William Jefferson, from what I have seen. I could be wrong however, and it should be checked out. Howard Boswell
