I did check to see if I could find William in 1900, one about the right age is in Hardin County.

James H. Terry Feb 1828 all TN
Jane Jul 1852 ""
William Boswell stepson Aug 1885 ""
Sadie dau Feb 1887 ""
Lucy dau Jan 1889 ""
( It appears Jane had been married to a Boswell, and evidently married this Terry between 1885 and 1887. On the same page near the top,was another Boswell who might be related. I could not determine the name of the head of household but after listing his children he had :
John T, Boswell nephew Jul 1882 17 TN
John T. Winchester Nephew Jul 1896 3 TN. It could be John T, and William were brothers, but I have no proof of this.) I tried for a Jane Boswell in 1880, but found none. Howard Boswell
