Dear William:

You might want to look into the family of Walter Boswell. He married Eleanor Smallwood in Charles Co., MD 14 Oct 1779. After his death (c. 1810), Eleanor and some of her children moved to Ohio Co., KY. The are in KENTUCKY FAMILY RECORDS, Vol. !, p. 85-87. Sometime after 1811 the Ohio Co. Kentucky Boswells left the state of their birth (MD). Eleanor Smallwood Boswell followed her dtr Sarah (who m. Leanorard Bean, 1810, MD), and her sons Henry and Caleb went, too. I mention these people to you, because there was a John Boswell (the name I'm researching) in Shelby Co., but does not seem to be related to the above family, and was there much sooner than the above group of Marylanders. Walter Boswell does not appear to have had a brother or son named James. Good luck to you! Billie
