You are right, about Tipton, TN; I really believed that because of the surrounding states that this might indeed be
my William. However, I believe I have found his father,
William C. Boswell on 1850 census index for Lowndes,AL. He was born in SC and was age 55 at time of census. I am still
trying to find out more about him and my great grandfather, William C. born in AL. Thank you for responding.
