Billie,
I appreciate your response. Most of the information I have on my Boswell ancestors was found in "The Boswells of Shelby County, Ky." by E.R. Hasskarl. According to this source, James Boswell married Priscilla ____ ca. 1770, probably in Charles Co., Md. He died ca. 1785-89, probably in Nelson Co., Ky. Their children were Priscilla, Nancy, Elizabeth, Sarah, John, George (my GGG grandfather), and two other daughters. There seems to be very little information about James in 18th century records. He served in the Maryland militia during the Revolutionary War, and may have lived in Montgomery Co., Md., from 1778-83. I have been unable to establish a connection between James and earlier Maryland or Virginia Boswells, such as John (b. ca. 1690-1700) and William (b. ca. 1682), who were described by J.B. Pippenger in "Descendants of Edward Boswell." I would appreciate any help in learning more about James.
Thanks.
