Roland, we got'im! In 1860 J Bostick, aged 74 born in England was listed with J M Holford (Joseph M Holford, aged 32 and his family. This is of course John Bostock. Joseph m Holford was one of the brothers of Elizabeth. Why John was not with Elizabeth (or visa versa) I do not know. But now we know where John was in 1850, 1860, 1870. And, I am pretty certain that George was son of John and Elizabeth. Have you ever searched for her probate record, or John's in Dallas Co, TX? I have not. Do you have any idea where John was before Pike county, Illinois when he married Elizabeth Holford Myers, widow of Joseph Myers, 11 July 1847? When did he come from England? There was a marriage between Thomas Ball and Eliza Bostwick on 27 January 1845 in Pike county, Illinois. Was she related to John? She is listed in Griggsville twp, Pike Co, IL in 1850, aged 37 born in England. Thomas was aged 29, also born in England. There were no children listed with them. There were a number of English families in Pike Co, IL by 1850. Thomas and Elixa are listed in 1860, 1870, 1880 Censuses in Pike Co, IL. They are buried in Griggsville Cem. Tombstone says Thomas 1819-1891 and Eliza (wife) 1818-1889. Is there any thing in your database about Eliza? Sure would help is spelling rules had been invented or followed in the mid-ninth century.
