Bostock/Bostwick Reunion - March 2004 Update In June 2003 we announced through the public forums that we were planning for a Bostock/Bostwick family reunion to take place in August 2004, when incidentally my father makes his 96th birthday. The response to the original announcements was very encouraging, and we are able to say with certainty that this event will run, and a number of the necessary bookings have now been made. This item is to pass on the further detail that we now have, and invite the stragglers to join us in what should be a rather special gathering of distant blood relatives very near to the village that is the root of these family names. The Reunion will start by meeting at the Quality Hotel, Northwich, Cheshire, UK, which floats on the River Weaver, at 6:30 pm on Friday 20th August 2004. We have booked their largest function room for this evening, where we shall meet, and have a buffet, and then we shall have a lecture on the history of the family in mid-Cheshire by our local expert Tony Bostock. Next day we shall take a trip in a Bostock Coach (yes there is a Cheshire company 'Bostock Coaches') and Tony will show us some of the places he will have talked about the previous evening. We shall certainly visit Tarporley, from whence Arthur Bostock emigrated to America many years ago, and of course the village of Bostock Green. (Photo your Bostock friends in the Bostock Coach in the village of Bostock). We shall have lunch at an English pub or two on this trip. No sooner have we returned to the hotel in Northwich than a birthday party will get into full swing, for my father Edward is 96 on this day. All who come to the reunion are invited to join us, as our guests, and celebrate this event with champagne and birthday cake (more photos and short speeches). This will be in the Quality Hotel in their River Suite. Saturday continues with dinner together in a large restaurant (Winnington Hall) booked for the occasion. There could be some speeches here too. Sunday is our final day. Nothing is scheduled for the morning, but we shall lay on our coach to take us to the old City of Chester for the afternoon. And in the evening we are working on a less formal, order your own food and drink occasion, in one of the many fine inns near to Northwich. Then it is back to the hotel, and we go our separate ways on the Monday morning 23rd August. We have negotiated a good rate for people booking in at the Quality Hotel, which is £70 per 2 persons per night, for bed and full breakfast. And we understand the hotel is beginning to fill for this weekend, so now is the time to get yourselves booked in. However, equally important, this is not a fully open invitation. At present we plan to use a single coach, and will therefore be limited to its maximum carrying capacity. Also the dining arrangements we have made have maximum attendance limits. If you wish to join this Reunion you must contact either Burton Bostwick in America or myself in the UK. We can be reached as follows: Burton L.
