In Reply to: BOSTOCK Surname Origin ??? by John Michael O`Melia of 546

It is with appreciation to John O'Melia that we must are privileged to have this site. I have worked on these names for many years and John has worked even harder for the origins of these family names.
I can only add from the earliest part of my own family line and go back to Tarvin and Farndon in Cheshire, England. However, I do believe that the Bostock lines in Cheshire were the foundation of Bostock lines that emanated out of U.K. and may have moved to other parts of the world.
However, I cannot confirm at all my belief that historians suggest that the Bostocks were Vikings....
I am only able to trace the line from Cheshire into Liverpool, Lancashire U.K. between 1780 and 1840. I will now make an effort to remember the email addfress of others who may participate in this site -
Roland Bostock from London - whose address I have lost (computers ah ahhh ahhh)and others.
I will also email others who are seeking Bostock and can make a contribution to this thread.
I await further replies and imput....
Sincerely in Searching.Thelma(Bostock)Birrell
Do not follow where the path may lead.
Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
