Hello Inez, I have news for you. I have been looking for Polly Bostock marrying a Mr Gregg for some time, since I read the will of James Cragg Bostock, who mentioned his daughter Polly Gregg. Of course I never found this marriage, for you explain that Polly first married a Thomas Richardson. It gets better. John Michael O'Melia was on the right track to warn you off Norwich. Polly was born in Leftwich, Cheshire (per the 1891 census), and a Polly married someone in 3rd quarter 1906 in the Northwich, Cheshire district. I am sure that this is your Polly. These two places are very close. Norwich is not known for its Bostocks, and is a few counties away. Like I said James Cragg was her father, and I have read his will, and even seen his gravestone. The family tree of James Cragg Bostock is well known and goes all the way back to a certain Raphe Bostock, a yeoman of Stanthorne, who left a will (copy to hand) dated 29 March 1603, proved at Chester. Stanthorne is a chapelry in the parish of Davenham, Cheshire, plumb adjacent to the chapelry of Bostock, so this family essentially traces all the way back to the village of Bostock. This is all good enough. There is more. I am not related to Polly that I know, but I am corresponding with an Anthony Bostock of Cheshire who is great grandson of James Cragg, and no doubt a cousin of yours. I will email you both in a separate note. Anthony is a keen genealogist, and a professional historian, interested in medieval Cheshire, and is writing up his family history, two good chapters already done. I have little doubt he will email you with what he has done. He uses hearth tax records, wills, parish registers, and all sorts to trace back to Ralph of Stanthorne. More by email. I never expected to find out Polly's fate through this Forum. Thanks for giving your side.
