To all Bostocks. I am chairman of Nuneaton & North Warwickshire Family History Society. we have several Bostock families in Nuneaton which date back to the 18th century if not earlier. It is quite a rare name and I understand a Bostock is a piece of timber used in ship building. If the Bostocks did come down from Cheshire it is possible they were soldiers in either Sir Thomas or Sir Willam Stanley's army at the Battle of Bosworth. Several local families in Nuneaton I have detected seem to emanate from the Cheshire/Lancashire area so I am currently working on this line of enquiry. The other families were Hankinsons, Mallabones, Hextalls, Croshaws.

I hope this provides a few more leads,

Peter
