What a lively research session !!!! and so fruitful - thanks to Roland. I have a John BOSTOCK who was in Liverpool, when my Robert Bostock (b.1743)was learning the slave trade. Robert's father Peter Bostock had died in 1743 and Robert was in Royal Navy before he gravitated to the trade. He was Master of the 'Good Ship Bloom' in 1783 for Fox Croft and Co. Some notes from my book "Robert's father had his death recorded5.10.1767 when Robert was aged about 24 and thought to have been in Liverpool for some years apprenticed to his Uncle John." Who was this UNCLE JOHN BOSTOCK in Liverpool and obviously in the slave trade as well.
This is a difficult one and I don't expect an answer, but I never will if I don't front him up to the checkout. Very insignificant detail but could be useful eventually.
Sincerely in Searching..Thelma (Bostock) Birrell at Maroochydore.
