The second OSMER actually was helping William the Conqueror against other Saxons and was rewarded with land in the area of BOESTOKE.

William preferred having the Saxons between him and the Welsh domains. The Saxons earned
a reputation as mercenaries for the Romans.
When the Romans left the island the Saxons stayed.

Later, William had to reckon with OSMER to show him who was on the throne.(g) OSMER was stripped of his property and titles and made to serve the Lord of Chester for tighter reigns.
