This Toliver was born ca. 1766 in VA and died 8-16-1813 in Edgefield Co., SC.His name was also noted ast TALIAFERRO.He married ANN (DAVIS) MOORE in Edgefield Dist., SC (BK 12, p. 557).His will was recorded 5-13-1813 in Edgefield Dist., Newberry Co., SC (Box 4, Pkt. 122, WB A).Between 1796-1800, several legal documents named Toliver and his brothers, Stephen and Littleberry.Toliver's will mentioned 3 sons-in-law, but did not name them (indicating he had 2 daughters besides Patsy).Toliver's son, Washington, mentioned in his will a 'beloved sister', Nancy, who had Mayson children.
Toliver's father was John Bostick (b. ca. 1735-40 in VA/died 8-16-1796 in Abbeyville, SC).John married JANE ?.In 1779, he lived in Buckingham Co., VA (National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Vol. 46, #4, 12-1958, p. 170), which shows Virginians turning in their paper money to the VA Continental Loan Office in 1779 and 1780.Shown turning in $206 (#538) was John Bostick of Buckingham Co., VA.In 1783, he owned land on the Appomattox River (Buckingham Co., VA Surveyor’s Plat Book of 1762-1858).He is probably the John Bostick who migrated to SC where, in 1790, John Bostick of the 96th Dist., SC sold 350 acres on the south side of the Saluda River to Edward Penman of Charleston.
I hope this helps you.If I can provide additional information, let me know.
