Percy this may not help but here goes.Mary Pegram West found that the first son of Johnannes Bast was named William (Johann Wilhelm Bast). He was born about 1738 or 9.His mother' name is not known.Anna Maria was also born to this first wife. Then Johannes and Susanna Catharina had twelve more children. The second son John is my ancestor.John is honored as a soldier of the American Revolution at Organ Lutheran Church in Rowan County, NC.These all lived in Bucks County before going to NC around 1754.
I have a copy of the ports list of the Pink Plaisance which shows that a child named Johanes Bast was on the ship Sep 21, 1732.The ports list also list the following Georg Bast, Jurig Bast (age 46), Gerg Bast, Anna Maree Basst (age 44).It would be almost impossible to say these are the Bast's of Berks versus Bucks County.
I do go to Germany a few years back and I visited the Evangelisch-Lutherische church in Heuchelheim Frankenthal.A Johannes was christened their on 10 Jul 1721.Maybe you can use this to find out more in your research.I wish you luck!
