John Bassy and wife Ellen were listed in Rockcastle Co., Ky. in 1880. He was 33 and she 29. He was coal miner and states he was born in Italy as were his parents. They had 2 sons Robert W. 7, and Jackson 5, both born in Ky. I believe Ellen was Eleanor Mullins. I cannot find them in 1900. However there is a John Bossee who came to Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ark. in the early 1900's with my husbands grandfather & family to work in the mines. He is buried here, I believe he died 1921. He was supposedly a relative of the grandfather John Cathers, of Laurel Co., Ky.
I believe Ellen Mullins was John Cathers aunt. What I would like to know is what happened to Ellen. Is anyone researching a Bossee family from Italy? Thank you.
