Philip Boss, I. (1743-1908) and Anna Speidel (1740-1822?) are my ancestors. Their daughter, Mary Margaret Boss married Jacob Lopp (c.1764-1840) in Rowan Co., NC in the early 1790s. They moved to Harrison County, Indiana about 1808 or so.

Mary Margaret (Boss) Lopp's tombstone in Beechwood cemetery shows she died in January 1826. Her age at death suggests she was born about 1770, which is in conflict with the birthdate of her sister, Elizabeth Boss.

I have nothing concerning the ancestry of Philip Boss, except that he was apparently from Dauphine County, Pennsylvania, as was his wife. His wife, Anna Speidel (or Speidle) was the daughter of Maximilian Speidel (1710-1798) and Margaretha Meyer (1709-1781). The Speidel ancestry dates back to the late 1500s.
