It might be useful to say a bit about the history of Bosnia.

Bosnia is today an independent state populated by 3 nations - Bosniaks(1/2), Serbs(1/3) and Croats(1/5); and olso by 3 religions - muslims (e.g. Bosniaks), ortodox christians (e.g. Serbs) and catholic christians (e.g. Croats).

All 3 nations will say they are the oldest and that Bosnia is theirs. The truth is probabley inbetween...

I will start from the present time.
Before 10 years a great war started by serbian agresion ended and Bosnia became a state. Before that a war ravaged the country.

Before that Bosnia and Herzegovina was a part of Yugoslavia(1918-1941-1945-1990). Many Croats and Serbs emigrated from the country...

Before that a part of Austria-Hungary (1878-1909-1918). Many Bosniaks emigrated to Turkey...

Before that a part of Ottoman empire (1463-1527-1878-1909). Bosnia became an islamic country with large ortodox counterbalance and catholic minorty...

Before that an independent state (13th century-1463). Bosnia was populated by mixed catholic and krstjani (a christian heretic denominatio) population (Serbs think oposite from that - the Serbs (e.g.ortodox) were everywhere - offering no proof for that)
---todays western Bosnia was a part of Croatia (up to river Vrbas)---some eastern parts of Bosnia belonged to Serbia ocasionaly

Before that is the greatest dispute. Everyone claim they lived there, but the proofs are scarse and rare. None can prove beyond doubt who lived in central Bosnia in early midle ages.

It is important to say that medieval Bosnia was smaler than todays Bosnia and that 1/3 of todays Bosnia (western) was a part of Croatia.

Ask if you wish to learn more, of if you wish me to write some other problems or wievs.

Hope this helps.
