Iím not an expert here, but it could be as you said. Brcko is a personal name that comes from (I guess) saint Brcko - bishop of Turon. Just checked Croatian phone book and found hundreds of subscribers with BRCKO or BRCKOVIC surnames: http://imenik.ht.hr/?a=find&metoda=2&lang=1&naziv=Brcko&izbor=1&zup=0&mjesto=&ulica=&Search=Search

There is a village named BRCKOVLJANI. I read about Brckovljani that they have Saint Brcko as a patron of their parish (Sint Brcko lived in 4th century).
