Elijah Borton - 1st Lieutenant 124th Illinois Infantry Civil War
Hello,
I am a document trader & collector.I have a large collection of original authentic civil war muster rolls for different regiments.I recently purchased a muster roll for "Captain Benjamin Griffiths Company F of the "One Hundred and Twenty-fourth Regiment of Illinois Vol Infantry, United States Army.Colonel Thomas J. Sloan from the thirty-first day of October, 1863 when last mustered, to the thirty-first day of December, 1863."
This muster roll contains 55 names of officers and privates including the one listed below.(All of the information listed is recovered solely from the muster roll.)
Elijah Borton - 1st Lieutenant who joined the service on Aug. 12, 1862 at Bruce Ills for 3 years. Was mustered in as Lieutenant on Nov. 10th, 1863 at Vicksburg, Miss. by Capt. Ide.He was last paid on Oct. 31, 1863 by Major Reynolds.Under notes - Promoted from 2nd Lieut. to 1st Lieut. to date from Nov. 10, 1863
I have pictures of this muster roll for descendants to see.I would appreciate any additional information about these soldiers that may be available. These guys had just left the Battle of Vicksburg at the time of this muster roll.I am a member of special Civil War research sites, and can possibly offer additional information that I don't care to research until someone wants it.Please e-mail me directly at [email protected]
Thanks,
