Mrs. William H. Trout boarded Titanic in Southhampton as a second class passenger. She was either 27 or 28 and gave her status as widowed and was mostlikely traveling alone. She was saved in liftboat #9 which was lowerd from the Starboard side of the ship at approx. 1:20am. The boat was made up of mostly 2nd class passengers with the notable exception of 1st class passenger Madame Leontine Aubert (the mistress of Benjamin Guggenheim), and possibly Mrs. Jacques Futrelle and notorious gambler George Bradley (Brereton)(though both are listed as saved in other boats as well) Second class passenger Miss Marion Wright was also in this lifeboat. As far as her life after her Titanic survival, I don't have any details yet. Can you give me any more info re: her Bortner husband's family. ie who his father was, siblings, children etc. I can possibly find information in the family geneology (assuming he is from the same Bortner line as I desend from). Please let me know if you are still in search of this information.
-Kate Bortner.
