Zora Bortner, my g.father. b. Albion or Mishawaka, Ind. 1874 or 1875. His mother, Susanna(h) Bortner came to Ind. via Pa. in the mid-late 1800'S. Susanna was m. to Alvin Joseph Skinner. Susanna, Alvin J. died in Oh. Zora died in Toledo, Oh. 1953 or 1955. Zora was m./div. to Mildred Mary (Blatt) who d. Toledo, Ohio 1960-1961. Zora had prev. m. once prior and had daughter living in Champagne, Il. Howard Bordner (who wrote Bortner-Bordner-Burtner book) once told my cousin that he saw a letter of an illegitimate boy, Zorn. Has anyone heard of Zora, Zorah, or Zorn? His closest Bortner relatives were in Albion, Ind.; Tom, Hazel, and Charles Henry. Tom Bortner was a fairly well-to-do merchant.
