I am a descendant of John Born, born in Germany in 1760 and died in Oglethorpe Co., GA. He married Mary about 1777. They had the following children: Samuel C, Daniel, Henry, Jacob, Rachel, and Rebecca M BORN. I am descended from Samuel C. (b. 11 Jan 1778, SC - d. Sep 1852, Sugar Hill, Gwinnett Co.,GA) who married Isabella EDWARDS 1805 in Gwinnett Co., GA. They had the following children: Isom W., Elizabeth, John Anthony, Daniel Delaney, Mary Ann, William S., Rachel M, Samuel Green, and Eliza Jane BORN.Our family oral history states that John, with his two brother, Isom and Jonas BORN, came to America from Germany before marrying and raising families. Records indicate that they lived in SC and began families there prior to miving to Oglethorpe Co., GA about 1800. Some believe that the father of these three BORN brothers was named James. Can someone provide me with additional data about this BORN (Bourne) family? I am also seeking the parents of Isabella EDWARDs.
