Ger,
This is one the more interesting posts I've found searching the internet for Borleis. I had been able to trace our family back to Weimar, but I only have information to the early 1800's. Johann Heinrich (1849) is the primary orgiantor of the Borleis famlies in the US. He arrived in 1881 from the Kassel area and settled in eastern Baltimore, Maryland. Most of the Borleis that have spread across the US are his descendants. I have information for 150+ descendants plus 100 spouses. It would be great to hear form you.
