Dear Ruth, I suspect we are cousins. My great grandmother was Almira McCreary, daughter of William and Actious, and sister of Rebecca McCreary who married Abraham Leggett/Liggett.
I have Actious as just Actious Harper as she was the daughter of William Harper and Actious Kehoe/Keyho/Keough. Maybe her second given name was Boring. My great great grandmother on my mother's side was Mary Boring b. 30 Sep 1830 in MD. I am also related to Leggett/Liggett through my mother's mother, who was a Green. Both the Greens and the Borings came from northern Baltimore County, MD and settled in Brooke County, WV (formerly VA). I grew up in Wellsburg many many years ago.
William McCreary's grandfather, George McCreary, was born in Ireland in 1752, immigrated to the United States as a young man and served in the Revolutionary War. His son Thomas was William McCreary's father.
I'll be happy to share any information I have.
