Recently received a copy of hand-written history of my B. lineage. Letters dated 1941-1945, written to my Mother from her Uncle Charlie.
Will extract the basics.

Joergen Henry Borgmann,
b. Teklenburg Germany Apr 7, 1789.
d. aged 75 yrs
buried. "old cem. of Evangelical church of Femme Osage (MO), no tombstone."
Passport by German gov't dated Aug 4, 1854, stated "m. to Miss Soedker who had died prior to issue of passport". Embarked for U.S. on Sept 15, 1854- 3 month journey. Continued to Warren Co. Missouri where relatives were already located 5 mi. from Marthasville.

Descendants 4 sons, 1 dau- all emmigrated to U.S. at maturity.

m. Freidrika Niendicker
Had 3 sons, 3 dau.
*Emmigrated to U.S. farmed at College Creek 5 mi E of Marthasville (MO)

1A. Oldest son Henry Jr. farmer at
Leva(s/r?)y MO, m. Sophia Holke 7 children born

1B. Mary, m. Henry Bierbauer, located at Levary (sp?) MO, 12 children

1C. Mina (sp?) b. 21 Feb 1853, Germany. m. Louis Nieukamp, remarried Mr _ _ laut of Holstein MO. 8 children. resided w/dau of Waverly, MO.

1D. Fred, located on Wulf's Creek (MO), m. Louise Welker 7 children born

1E. George, located in LaFayette Co, MO.
m. Miss Hagermeier. 5 children survive

1F. Anna m. Gust. Bierbauer. Wellington Mo 4 children raised.

2.Adolf _ _ Borgmann, b. Germany. Learned Joiners trade. Emmigrated w sister Anna 1845-1847, living w/ cousin on Tug_e Creek 5 mi NE of Marrthasville (MO). M.Elizabeth Woestemeier (nee Schuster) a widow w/children. Remarried Kathr. Schuster (nee Speckman). At age 80 d.@Marthasville w/o bodily heirs

3. William _ Borgmann. b. Apr 4, 1824, Germany. Cooper and wooden shoe maker trade as young man.Emmigrated at an early age. Dec 5, 1853 m. Malinda Laudwehr of Femme Osage. Farmed on College Creek 3 mi NW of Femme Osage. D. 1890, Wm. d. 1911, Malinda. Ten children born
3A. Henry located Leva(s/r?)y, MO. m. Mary Drewel
3B. John to Leva(s/r?), MO. m. Charlotte Wittham. Purchased farm there, later one at Buckner, MO
3C. Caroline to Leva(s/r?)y, MO, kept house for bros Henry and John prior to their marriage. m. Fred. Wittham. farmed there, later to Independence MO
3D Diedrich b. Mar 21 1855, m. Mary Herman mar 6 1884. Located at Lev(s/r)y MO then to Wellington MO. During WWI, their son Arnold drafted, sent to France killed July 19, 1918, bur Wellington, MO
3E. Johanna m. Fred Herman of Femme Osage, farmed at Leva(s/r)y MO
3F. Eliza kept house for aged parents. m. John Twiehaus
3G. Wm. Jr died age 20
3H, 3I, two dau born d. on DOB.
3J. Herman, m. Emily Twiehaus of Cappeln MO, farmed near College Creek.

4. Mary Schuerman (nee Borgmann) b. Tecklenburg GER. Sept 7 1829. Emmigrated w/bro Adolf employed in St. Louis MO. met and m. Henry Schaberg. 1 Son. cholera epidemic in St louis 1850 to 1852 Schaberg and son stricken. Remarried Fred. Schuermann 10 children born, 3 d. as infants.
4A. Lena b Jan 31 1858. m. John Hoffman of Marthasville MO farmed near Leva(s/r)y MO, flooded out three yrs in a row, moved to St. Louis Hoffmann worked for Eden Publishing house, moved to New Salem N. Dakota
