Joseph Boren was born 20 January 1729/30 in Cecil County, Maryland, son of Charles Boren & Mary Brashear. He married in 1750 to Susannah Teague who was born 30 January 1729/30, St. Mary Anne's Parish, Cecil Co. Maryland. Joseph Boren was a leader of the Regulators in Orange County, North Carolina, and was hanged by the British as an "unpardonable outlaw" in May 1775 in Caswell Co. North Carolina. His widow married John Browning and died in Greene County, Georgia, 20 July 1812. Joseph Boren and Susannah Teague had 13 children.
