I am the great-grandson of Jacob Smith Boreman, federal circuit judge, Utah, the younger brother of Arthur Ingram Boreman, first governor of West Virginia. My father, Gilbert (81) is in possession of Jacob's self-produced family history and Jacob's Civil War diary, if anyone is interested. Jacob was City Attorney of Kansas City Missouri when the war broke out, organized militia against Confederate raiders, and was named to the bench by Ullyses S. Grant. My sister and I, like our great grandfather and grandfather before us, are both attorneys with an interest in history, including Boreman family history.
