This Borders line goes back to Christopher Borders 1830 OH & Amanda M Ridgeway 1833 OH, to Christopher Borders 1798 VA-1889 IA & Elizabeth Wood 1798 VA-1882 IA, to Christopher Borders 1763 PA-1847 IN & Sarah Blizzard 1766 VA-1845 IA, and to John Bodders/Borders c173X. John was living in Bucks Co PA when his sons Peter Border 1756 PA and Christopher Borders 1763 PA were born. He moved his family to Rowan Co NC shortly before the American Revolution.

In Lancaster Co PA my ancestor, Michael Bader/Borders 1741 GER-1807 GA, left the German communities and moved to Virginia where his surname evolved into Border and then to Borders---probably due to English speaking record keepers.
Michael was the son of Matthias Bader 1707 GER who brought his family from Jettenburg Germany to Lancaster Co PA in 1742.
