The 1870 census for Sumner Co., Tn. says:

1870 (23 July) US Census, Dist. 16, Sumner County, Tennessee, P.O. Richland Station, p. 813:
dwelling 198, family 198;
Borders Jef, 37, M, W, Farmer, value of real estate 400, personal estate 800, born in Kentucky;
Borders M. J., 25, F, W, Kentucky;
Borders S. E., 16, F, W, born in Tennessee, cannot read or write;
Borders M. M., 14, F, W, Tennessee, attended school within the year;
Borders G. A., 12, F, W, Tennessee;
Borders L. F., 10, F, W, Tennessee;
Borders Catherine, 8, F, W, Tennessee;
Borders M. F., 4, F, W, Tennessee;
Borders J. J., 2, M, W, Tennessee.


This shows a S.E. (female) 16 years old, M.M. (female) 14 years old and a G.A. (female) 12 years old. also.....

The J.J. is John James Borders, he married my gr grandfathers sister, Victoria Harrison. I have pictures and lots of info on that line if you are interested. Thanks,
